This morning we were up early, because we are going to change our tires at Moto rent Patagonia.Juan Zapata who owns this company, very kindly helped me seven years ago when I was here to get the tyres changed on my previous bike. We became quite good friends and have communicated and I have visited again over the years. So it’s great to be able to come back and see him and have a coffee and do the same job again.

Tim and I got our bikes up on stands and remove the wheels, and then we took to The tire repair shop to have them replaced. The new tyres look incredible when you compare them to the almost bald used ones we have taken off. It’s amazing that we have worn these ties out in six weeks. But that is what 8000 km will do.

Having changed the tires, we popped back to the hotel to pick up our bags and set off towards San Martin de Los Andes. This is another Lakeside town in this amazing part of Argentina. And the route to get to it is one of the most famous roads in this part of the world. the route of seven lakes. Is a 109 km scenic Road that runs through the Andy’s mountains and past seven iconic lakes. On a clear day the scenery. IsFantastic and the views afforded mean that you’re constantly stopping for photographs. It is also very popular. So those stopping points are normally completely full of tourists

and buses. However, it is the most amazing road and we thoroughly enjoyed the 2 1/2 hours it took us to ride to San Martin. For some reason, our GPS did not want to take us to our hotel, so we rode around getting increasingly frustrated before we found it

we have a two bedroom department behind the main hotel, and are able to park our bikes in garages. What a treat. We changed, walked into town and had the necessary daily couple of beers.. having had a few days of really good restaurant food, we found ourselves just wanting something simple. So we found a basic café and had cheese and bacon quiche with salad. I’m thoroughly satisfied we then took a nice walk around the town and down to the lake and enjoyed a pleasant evening before our usual early night.
