7th October 2025

We were both up early today and decided to go for a walk along the beach before breakfast. It was good to get some exercise and it also brought out a lot of new pains and aches from the day before. Where i hit the ground face first the helmet had dug into my neck and i was finding breathing difficult as i had some bruising. Also on my leg , which i did not even feel the day before, was now very badly bruised. The walk brought all this to my attention.

Our next decision was a good one, we decided to make today a long day and head the 560km down to Puerto Madryn, rather than breaking the journey which was the original idea. By doing this it meant we could have a "day off" tomorrow to get our jobs done. Things like laundry, general shopping for one or two things, sorting out the electrics on our bikes and other minor stuff which we just don't have the ability to do when constantly riding.

It was going to be a long one. First the 60km of gravel from yesterday. This was fine today, and its good to get back on the horse right away.

Then back onto Ruta 3 for straight roads for as long as the eye can see, fairly flat scenery with the odd mountain popping out of it. It reminded us of the area in central Australia where Aryes Rock just pops out of the desert.

There is not much to tell about this day, it was long it was hot and it was endless. Fuel stops, leg stretch stops and incidents with ear plugs.. but apart from that not much to write about.

Sometimes you just have to do the miles.
