Today we set off, we are both quite excited and want to get going. But first we have jobs to do. Firstly we need to get our spare set of tyres to Barriloche, so we can collect them when we get there. This means transporting them across town to the offices of Viaje Transport, whoc will take care of the shipping. WE found the offices OK and managed to get them all sent without any problems. We then rode back to Puerto Madero to change some US Currency into Argentinian Pesos. We cant change too much because the Peso / Dollar rate changes often and the monet devalues quite fast. so this will become a feature of the trip to change money.
We returned to the hotel and got them to store our suitcases for us until be get back in December (this meant we had to book with them again)
Loading the bikes for the first time, no matter how much we might have pactised over the last year at home, alwats takes longer than you think, but finallt we were ready to set of on a 22000Km adventure.

Today we are heading 251km to a town called Chivilcoy, and despite much online searching i can really find out much about the town. its in the middle of farming country in Buenos Aires State, The region is really flat with open fields as far s the eye can see. This part of the world is just huge for us Europeans used to a town around every corner. We rode on motorways to start, then got off onto provincial roads as much as we could. It was great to be riding again. We have intercoms on our bikes so we can talk to each other when needed, but i had no idea how much Tim likes to talk about Tyre choices on his KTM and the technical details asscociated with them. I was thinking i might forget to charge my intercom tonight .
We arrived into Chivilcoy around 4pm, and had an hour to get set into our hotel before heading back into town. We had diverted here to meet with the family of my EX. who i know well and it seemed such a nice opportunity to catch up and say hello.
They are a humble family, but such a tight knit and loving one, that Tim and I had a really special evening with them . Communication wasnt easy for Tim, and i have broken Spanish. but we sat and drank some beeres with them, Jesus was sent to his tiny smoking room and shut in, while the rest of us chatted. It was brilliant. We ended up going out to the local footbal club for a BBQ, It was a great evening and we are so glad we made this diversion.
